Does the latest firmware 1.0.3 broke the autofocus performance of the EOS R5 Mark II?

Has anyone noticed the degradation in the autofocus of the Canon R5 Mark II? Especially in the video mode, the autofocus is not as reliable as it was before the firmware update.

Hi Sajan,

I'm sorry to hear you're having issues with the auto focus on your EOS R5 Mark II. We haven't received reports of firmware 1.0.3 breaking focus on that camera. One general thing we would recommend would be double checking your settings. When a firmware update is done it resets the camera back to factory default, so if you customized settings before updating the camera those settings would have been reset.

If you want to trouble shoot the issue we would need some more information to trouble shoot the issue. Is this happening with all lenses you use on the camera, or is it only happening with one specific lens? Is this happening in all light conditions? What resolution and frame rate are you shooting in video mode? Do any error messages show on the camera, and if there is an error message what does it say word for word?

Yes, I'm having a problem with AF especially when using RF 600mm f4 with both R5 Mark 2 cameras I own after the firmware update to v1.0.3. When I use both R5 mkii cameras, AF doesn't focus on the subject especially in the foreground. To insure the lens wasn't the issue, I used my R1 and I had no AF problem with the 600mm lens. With the R1, my 600mm f4 worked perfectly.
