Hey, got the R1 today. After i switched the camera on, it instantly started the stabilisation even without touching the camera or any button even without a lens. after i mounted a lens on it like rf 100 or rf 24-105 2.8 still the same problem. non stop stabilisation on. when i switch from one shot to servo af the camera focusses everything i point on (im not touching anything)(in camera mode - not video mode). in one shot mode the camera does the same - still IBIS on and trys to focus without touching anything. The stabilisation/constant try to focus was only off when i was in the firmware update programm (to 1.0.1), or when the camera goes standby or was shut off. can any1 help or do i have to send it back to my camera shop?

littler,
Look in your manual under Shooting and Recording/Still Photo Shooting. It will tell you how to your IS on or off. You can tell it to be on always, or only when you are taking a shot.

Thanks for responding. Sadly, the cameras IBIS is still active even if i switch it on or off - no difference.

If the camera is constantly trying to focus when you are not pressing a button then it sounds like you have preview AF enabled. If so this is what causes the camera to constantly focus when switched on. Also it will activate the IBIS and lens IS too.
Here's the manual section:-
https://cam.start.canon/en/C018/manual/html/UG-04_AF-Drive_0100.html#AF-Drive_0100_1-3
Using Preview AF will also reduce the number of shots that can be taken with a fully charged battery.

Thanks for your response. The IBIS is always active with this setting on/off. No difference.

Both of the two lenses you mention have an IS ON/OFF switch. If the lens switch is set to ON then it will also switch on the in-body IS, there is no way to switch of the IBIS independently of the switch on the lens.
I have two cameras that have IBIS and with no lens fitted I can hear the IBIS working, though I have to hold the camera body close to my ear to hear it. With no lens fitted I can turn the IBIS off and then the camera is silent. This is for EOS R6 / EOS R6 Mark II

right. after i took off the lens and switched the setting which turns off the IBIS, the IBIS is still active and you can easily hear it. that seems not right, or? my r3s IBIS is only active (u can hear it) when i press the shutter button half.
