I just brought home my brand new 5D Mk III, charged the battery up, mounted the lens (24-105), inserted the CF card and then the battery. Switched it on and no sign of life at all. Removed the battery, lens and CF card and then re-installed the battery. No sign of life. Totally black display, nothing in the viewfinder.
I'm not new to Canon DSL's but this is my first 5D. Is there some new camera magic trick or is the trick on me?

Well, put the battery back on the charger and it started over - one slow flash. A few hours later it was up to solid green.
Now it powers up! Hmmm... I don't know what to make of that. For now I will enjoy and keep a watch on it.

The camera continues to work spectacularly, not an issue since that first charge.
