I am a teen photographer who got my first camera 6 months ago. I’ve had a lot of experience using the included 18-45 mm lens with my EOS R50. However I’m looking to do some more sports and wildlife photography. I have been looking for a telephoto lens for my R50. I understand that this lens has quite a bad reputation. Is it worth buying if I’m still somewhat of a beginner, especially to telephoto lenses. Please offer any advice/insight you have on this lens. https://mobdro.bio/ Thanks!

And sometimes you just have to call a spade a spade Ernie. I just call it like I see it and understand that some folks aren't happy unless they can be caustic and put down others. They just have a tendency to make it up as I go regardless of specifics or reality.

Contrary to almost everybody, I would say .... YES...... BUT... only buy second hand, including a second hand adapter. Reason being, you are a beginner, and might NOT like that focal range. Buy second hand, and you can sell later at a smaller loss.
That lens is also "slow", for sports and at that focal length, you will need a "fast" lens - wide aperture, and fast quick focusing, and image stabilization... and that lens will be expensive. So I say, go ahead get the lens you mentioned, and practice with it. Practice with your technique first. Once you become familiar, if you want and have saved enough, then you may buy a better lens.
Put it this way, you are a new driver and will be better off driving a manual car (stick). Once you get familiar with a stick shift, you will be ready to drive any car, you will be better than most millennials your age (USA).
Good luck and enjoy.
