I have replaced the printhead, following your instructions, several times but the error message still occurs and will not let me even use the menu button. The red light on the "M" ink cartridge blinks slowly instead of staying on solid. By the way, your instructions left out a step: remove all the ink cartridges before lifting the print head lock lever.
This error message came on as i was using the printer to print and i had not removed the print head or replaced any cartridges.

Hi markmarn ,
Please try the following procedure to reseat the print head and inks:
Install the Ink Tanks
Make sure that the position of the ink tank matches the label.
Press the mark (Push) on the ink tank until the ink tank snaps firmly into place.
Make sure that the ink lamp lights up red.
If the error returns, the printer may require service options. To hear about your service options, please click the following link: Contact Us.
Thanks!

I have the same problem, had never take the print head out or used non-Canon ink. Does anyone have any other solutions?
