mx490 driver will not install

My amd lenovo laptop with windows 10 will not complete the printer installation.

 

I follow the instructions for usb installation, it downloads the latest version, approve the EULA, and connect the printer when prompted..

 

It hangs up on the screen that says "printer detected please wait" and then 5 minutes later it says "printer not detected & please connect"

 

Please advise.

I found a workaround for this problem in another discussion: abandon the cannon installation procedure, remove the device if one is shown, restart the laptop, and use the native Windows device installer.

in my case, I found that the Canon software had created programs that were not apparent before.
