Pixma 7720 Squeaks like a bird is trapped and is very slow

My about a month old Pixma 7720 squeaks like a bird is trapped in it.  Anyone else have this problem.  Also when you send something to print it is "processing" for about 3 minutes before it prints.  Wondering if its defective.

MX892 printhead problem

We have a very lightly used MX892 about a year old, and Canon's recommended fix does not work. It sounds as if the only solution is a new printer.  I would recommend against a Brother printer.  They make Canon products look really, really reliable.
