Unable to Open PIXMA TR8620a to Clear Paper Jam

The rear paper support is jammed and does not come all the way out to access the rear cover to remove paper jam.

How can I get the paper support to open?

Also, it says no paper in cassette. But there is and loaded properly. Every time you print a piece of paper gets stuck and can be removed from the front. Not happy with this unit I have had for one month.
