Trouble adding PIXMA TS3522 to macOS Monterey

I am struggling to onnect my TS3522 printer to my macbook monterey (12.6.9). Both printer and computer are connected to the same network (and the printer can be used by other devices) and I have downloaded and installed the software recommended here https://www.usa.canon.com/support/p/pixma-ts3522-wireless-all-in-one-printer.

Still,  the correct driver seems to be missing? I am getting the message "Software for this printer isn't available from Apple" when adding my pinter. Is there a suitable driver I could download?

yes, and I followed the instructions. Oddly, it fails to connect, but then the printer is visible in my list of printers to add.
