TR7022 printer black ink cartridge #240 too big

old black ink cartridge came right out, new black ink cartridge will not engage, appeared to be too big measured with old cartridge and it’s the same size and number. I can take the color cartridge in and out no problem

Right ink cartridge?  My TR7022a takes 260 & 261 ink cartridges.  I only use Canon ink in it and not the aftermarket stuff.  It doesn't hurt to double-check manual in case it is different from mine, but I'm kind of doubting it.

I decided to look it up.  It is 260 & 261.
