Small part from Canon MX926?

My Canon MX926 printer keeps notifying me that there is no paperin the bottomm tray although it is full. I put a few more sheets in and it usually works.

I did notice however this small part at the back of the prionter. I'm not sure if it is from the printer and caused the problem
