Is there a best method for making small canvas prints on a Canon TS6400 printer. It's an all-in-one printer/scanner combo and turns out great looking prints on regular photo papers. But this is not one of the Pro Series printers and seems to have no specific driver settings for canvas prints, only settings for more common papers like Gloss, High Gloss and Matte.
What started all this is a good deal I found at a local discount overstock kind of store. There was a shelf full of these DIY canvas print and frame kits. And each kit got you enough materials to make three of these 7" x 9.5" prints for $4.00. Couldn't very well pass up a deal like that.
So I looked for but never found any print settings for canvas for my very basic desktop combo inkjet printer. And all I found online were some downloadable print profiles but Canon only offers them for their Pro Series printers. Figured I'd try it anyway using the default glossy photo setting. The canvas sheet fed thru OK but the print colors were dull and lacking in contrast. I ran the same sheet thru a second time with the same settings to double print it and it at least produced a usable canvas print. I was kind of surprised that the second printing was as closely registered to the first printing as it was.
So does anyone have any suggestions on getting a decent canvas print in a single pass? At least something with better colors and a decent amount of contrast?

If it is coated canvas for inkjet printing the matte paper setting may be better.
