Searching for Letter of Volatility/Statement of Volatility MegaTank PIXMA G1220

Is there a letter of volatility, sometimes called a statement of volatility, for the MegaTank PIXMA G1220 printer? I would like assurance that the printer does not store any consumer data on its internal systems.

Hi Tuttle1,

A Letter of Volatility can most certainly be provided to you for your PIXMA G1220.  Please contact one of Canon via phone or chat. To contact Canon, please use the link below to log into your My Canon account:

https://mycanon.usa.canon.com

Once logged in, click on your PIXMA G1220 and then click on the Product Support button. When that page loads, click on either the Phone Support button or the Chat Support button.

Patrick,

I'm not able to register my product to my Canon account. I get the following error message when submitting my information to register it:

The serial number you have entered is invalid for one or more of the following reasons:
"1) The serial number does not match the product you have selected (FCC ID which starts with “AZD” is often mistaken for serial number.)
2) The serial number entered indicates this product was not intended for sale in the United States and is ineligible for registration and support in the U.S.
Please verify your product model and serial number to ensure they were entered correctly."

My serial number is "KMVJ[XXXXX]"

[Serial number partially hidden to protect privacy.]

Hi, Tuttle1!  We checked your serial number and the KMVJ designation corresponds to the Canadian version of the PIXMA G1220.  This version of the printer was specifically intended for sale in Canada and is not officially available in the United States.  Canon USA's registration database is set up to only allow US-specific products to be registered.

If you're based in the Canada, you'll want to contact our colleagues at Canon Canada about this.  Otherwise, if you're based in the USA, you may want to contact your dealer to let them know that you received a printer that wasn't supposed to be here.

Hope this helps!
