I just finished migrating to a new desktop. In the past I have used the CD that came with my PIXMA MX492 Printer/Scanner and it has always worked just find. Unfortunately, my new desktop does not have a CD/DVD drive, so I went to the Canon website to download the software. The printer software downloaded just fine and it prints just fine, but the Canon IJ Scan Utility is missing.
I downloaded the MX490 series Full Driver & Software Package (Windows) from https://www.usa.canon.com/internet/portal/us/home/support/details/printers/inkjet-multifunction/mx-s...

It doesn't show up in the My printer window.

No, it doesn't show up. When I click My Printer all I get is this:

I know. I was making a statement. Did you follow the instructions in my posting to locate the software in your Program folder?
