Scan multiple pages into one pdf file

How can I scan multiple pages into one pdf file ? I have a Canon E510, changed the settings to pdf but still no success.

I don't have your printer model, but generally all Canon scanners give a message like this:

Keep putting new pages on and press scan until you are finished, and then press exit. You should get one file with all your pages.

It does not show this option. I guess my printer model lacks this software. Thanks for yr reply.

At the end of the scanning process, the (scanned) document is forwarded immediately to the designated file in my PC. 

No message or option to continue scanning.
