Re: MX922 Printer has error code 6001 that won't resolve


Instructions say to turn off, unplug, replug.

Have done this several times to no avail.

The paper tray was not closed when this message appeared - we only close it when adding paper to tray.

Anything else we can try?

The 6001 support code indicates the paper output tray is closed. Opening the tray should resolve the support code.


In the event that the support code remains perform a power reset, the following steps will assist you:


  1. Disconnect the power cord from the printer and outlet.
  2. Press the power (On/Off) button on the printer 5 times.
  3. Each time you press the power (On/Off) button, hold it down for approximately 3 seconds.
  4. Leave the printer disconnected for approximately 10 minutes.
  5. After the time has passed, reconnect the power cord to the printer.
  6. Connect the power cord directly to the wall outlet.
  7. Open the output tray.
  8. Turn the printer on.



Thank you for your help, but it didn't work.  Have tried three times.  Maybe I'll just turn it off and try again tomorrow.
