My Pixma TS8320 printer (a year old, light duty) will not print black text. Have run the all the maint. functions, have swapped out the Canon ink cartridges, have downloaded and reinstalled drivers. Still will not print black text. Adding to the frustration, when I print a diagnostic test pattern, the blank ink works just fine. Ideas, anyone?

I have the exact same issue and am spending a fortune on new ink. My MG8120 was fantastic before this one and it needed a new printer head and I didn't have the luxury of waiting for a new one to come from China. Now I regret ever purchasing this one.

I finally broke down and bought an OEM printer head for my TS8320 and that in the end solved all my problems. In my latest post, which I wanted to update and was unable to, I wanted to say I had pulled out and pushed back the wrong thing and when I discovered my error, I was able to eventually clear the error message and install the new printer head. I apologize for my frustration but I've been printing fine ever since.
