I purchased new ink tanks for my Pixma MX922 printer, however, they have changed slightly in appearance and when I installed the 250XL tank I get a code 1660 and it says it can not recognize the ink tank. I have tried contacting support but am getting no where. Has anyone else had this issue?

Hi LindaH1,
From where was the PGI-250XL ink tank purchased?
Are you using genuine Canon ink tanks?
If not, they are available for purchase here:

I have purchased Canon brand ink cartridges. The same issue is happening. I've owned this printer for a number of years and never had an issue. Now, every time I insert ink cartridges, it goes through the process of recognizing them, then it tells me "more than one ink cartridge of the following color is installed.". SUpport Code 1681 OR it says it can't read the ink cartridge even though it's CANON brand. I imagine there is some sort of update or restart I should try. I have restarted the printer twice with no success with this issue.

Since you are using new ink cartridges, the contacts are probably not needing to be cleaned. Is it possible the print head contact needs to be cleaned, too?

Hi,
It could be a issue with the print head not detecting the cartridge correctly. Could you please take a picture of the ink cartridge and attach it to your reply.
We look forward to your reply.
