PIXMA iP8720 Wi-Fi lamp won't light up

Hi! Setting up my new pixma ip8720. When setting up the wifi, I press and hold the wifi button. The power lamp flashes twice and i let go, but the wifi lamp does not turn on. Please advise, thanks!

Yes, I used that. Issue is with hardware.

Seems you are right, the wifi lamp flashes after power lamp flashes twice. The wifi light continues to flash until network connection is made then it becomes a solid light. If it does not flash then it is not in setup mode. You can power down the printer and restart, and make sure it is within range of your router. It may go out if it does not get a proper 2.4ghz signal. 

Hi! I've tried powering down and restarting the printer many times now, and even tried connecting it right next to the router.. I have confirmed that there is a 2.4ghz signal available but the wifi lamp still will not light up no matter what I try.

I think the wifi circuit may be defective. You can connect using a printer cable, I don't use printer wifi ever if I can help it, but you may want it. You should contact Canon customer support and ask them what they recommend. Here is the number  1-800-385-2155
