PIXMA TS8320 Cannot scan from printer control panel

I have always been able to scan from the printer control panel. This is a Pixma TS8320. Now, when I try to scan, the control panel says "Set the PC to start scanning". I do not want to do that. I want to scan by pressing the button on the printer control panel. Help.....

Did this start with update to W11? I have seen other discussions where W11 broke some printer options. You could give Canon a call at 1-800-OK-CANON. Be sure to register your product first.
