PIXMA TS6420a scanner not connected to pc

I'm trying to scan with my TS6420a but have no success! I can print no problem from smartphone, PC, tablet. I've installed the Canon IJ Printer Assistant tool, the scan app from windows, does not find scanner. I have windows 11. please help me.

Hi Sophia74,

Because you were able to install the drivers successfully, that would mean that the scanning software, the IJ Scan Utility, was installed as well.  Please follow these steps:

1.  Please click on the Windows button at the bottom of your screen.

2.  Click All Apps.

3.  In the menu that appears, click on the Canon Utilities folder.

4.  Click on the IJ Scan Utility.

5.  Once the IJ Scan Utility is open, please attempt to scan.

Were you able to scan?

If not, what is the error code that appears at the bottom of the error message?

the printer is connected to the wifi since I can print with no issues. The printer is in the same spot as before when scanning wasn't an issue.  I don't know what else to do.  The only difference is the laptop is new.  My virus protection software is the same (Bit Defender).  I'm goin to try removing printer/scanner and removing all software from canon. Shutting down laptop ad starting from scratch.  

 

Success! I think the difference was during this install I let the software connect the printer to the wifi.  On another note, how can I add a short cut to the Canon scan utility app to my desktop?
