My Pixma 6020 will only print PDF's in cyan even though I chose black and white. Why?

We need you to run a nozzle check and post screenshot of results before we can provide advice.

Thanks for joining the conversation, bomba!  So that the Community can help you better, we need to know exactly which Canon printer model you're using.  You see, we've come out with two PIXMA printers with the number 6020 in their names, specifically the PIXMA G6020 and the PIXMA TS6020, and they're both pretty different. That, and any other details you'd like to give will help the Community better understand your issue!

If this is a time-sensitive matter, click HERE search our knowledge base or find additional support options HERE.

Thanks and have a great day!

Sorry.  I have the PIXMA TS6020.   I ran the nozzle check ( not sure how to screen shot it). It shows my Magenta tank is empty.  All other patterns are good.  Would this prevent "Black" from printing?

Hi,

I would check the settings from the program you are printing from. Adobe may have set the PDF files to print as grayscale or composite gray which would use the color ink tanks instead of the black cartridge used for printing text.

Depending on where you are printing from, the settings may allow you to change from grayscale to black only and then your PDF files should only print using the black ink.

If the issue persists, I recommend reaching out to Canon support. The real time feedback of a live technical support call/chat would be very beneficial in this case.

You will need to register your Canon gear HERE to access additional support options.

We look forward to hearing from you.
