PIXMA TS5351i Photos too dark

alanman

My model is Canon Pixma TS5351i. All photos are much too dark. I am printing from an Apple mac via wifi using Canon Photo Plus Glossy 2, 6*4 up to A4 size. I have tried adjusting using Mac Photos but it makes no difference. I have had no such problem using the same method with previous printers.

I saw a tip to use Easy-PhotoPrint Editor under Canon Utilities but that does not appear in my Applications.

Thank you.

1. does a nozzle check print properly?

2. do other documents like PDFs with images print properly?

3. what macOS version?

4. typically you would have to download and install Easy PhotoPrint editor; not an automatic download.

Thanks for response John.

1. Nozzle check OK

2. PDF with colour pics are OK on plain paper

3. mac is 10.15.7, Catalina. Thats the best I can get as it;s an older machine. Could it be that ?

4. Have now used Easy Photoprint Editor but no better.

Thanks

Alan

I checked the support page and it says your printer is only able to be connected via Apple AirPrint. That is a limited capability driver. I don't know if that is the issue in your particular situation, but I know in other cases when folks had poor prints it turned out they were connected using AirPrint and installing Canon driver revolved their problems. You don't have that option.

This video recognizes and discuss the problem. The fix is installing the Canon driver (which is not an option for your printer.

Maybe try calling Canon support for your region.

Thanks very much John. I tried printing direct from my phone but no better. I'll find another way.

Much appreciated.

Alan
