PIXMA G6020 - Megatank that no longer prints magenta and amber.

My Canon PIXMA G6020 Megatank no longer prints magenta and amber. I have done every maintenance step and multiple deep cleans with no luck.  Is there a fix, a solution absent buying a new printer.  It is only 1 1/2 years old.

Hi TLCinAustin,

To resolve this printing issue, please perform an Ink Flush with your PIXMA G6020:

1.  Please turn your G6020 on.

2.  Press the wrench and screwdriver button on your G6020 one time.

3.  Repeatedly press the right arrow button to select Maintenance and press the OK button.

4.  Repeatedly press the right arrow button to select Ink Flush and then press the OK button.

5.  Use the arrow to select Color and press OK.

6.  Check the displayed message and press the OK button.

7.  Use the left arrow to select Yes and then press the OK button.

8.  Use the left arrow again to select Yes and press OK.

The procedure will begin.  If it stops after one or two minutes, it did not operate long enough.  Please perform the Ink Flush again.  It will take 6 to 8 minutes.

Once complete, please use the left arrow to select Nozzle check and press OK.

If your printout does not print correctly, the color print head may need to be replaced.  The printhead is available for purchase directly from Canon.  Please note, there are no refunds on parts purchased.  To access the shop to purchase the color print head, please use the link below:

There is no guarantee that replacing the printhead will resolve this issue.

You are eligible for Canon's Upgrade Program. This is for out of warranty units which have been diagnosed to require service. This option allows you a one-time opportunity to purchase a replacement product, discounted from the list price.

If you would like to take part in this option, please call our Sales Department at (866) 443-8002 Monday through Saturday, 9am to 9pm. Let them know you have been working with technical support and the Canon Upgrade Program was offered.
