Recently this printer has been cropping the left side of the print. I have to reduce size to around 80% so as to get the full image. Help please.

Thanks for joining the conversation, Ooit22!

So that the Community can help you better, we need to know exactly which Canon printer model you're using within the PIXMA TS5100 series.  The model number should appear on the front of the unit at the lower right corner of the control panel. That, and any other details you'd like to give will help the Community better understand your issue!

If this is a time-sensitive matter, click HERE search our knowledge base or find additional support options HERE.

Thanks and have a great day!

HiOoit22! Thanks for contributing to the Canon community. I see that the left side of your prints are being cropped out.

If you are printing borderless on photo paper, please keep in mind that the image will be slightly enlarged as it is being printed. Because it is being enlarged, the outside edges of the print will not show on the paper. The printer enlarges the print slightly so that you don't see white on any of the sides of the paper.

For information regarding the borderless printing process, please see the first paragraph in the following page of the manual:
https://ij.manual.canon/ij/webmanual/PrinterDriver/W/TS5100%20series/1.0/EN/PPG/dg-c_borderless.html

If you think the issue is being caused by something different, I recommend that you check the paper size setting at your computer and at the printer. When you load the paper in the printer, you will get the opportunity to select a Paper Size and Type. Please be sure to select the appropriate size. You'll see the instructions in the following section of the manual if you are loading the paper in the rear tray:
https://ij.manual.canon/ij/webmanual/Manual/All/TS5100%20series/EN/UG/ug_l_01_02_c.html

For loading paper in the cassette, you can check this page of the manual:
https://ij.manual.canon/ij/webmanual/Manual/All/TS5100%20series/EN/UG/ug_l_01_03_c.html

If the paper size setting at your computer matches what you have selected at the printer, you can try uninstalling the printer from your computer, and then reinstalling it.

Should the problem persist or if you need assistance with uninstalling/reinstalling the printer on your computer, please write back with answers to the following questions:

  • Are you printing with or without a border?
  • What size and type paper are you printing on?
  • Which tray are you using to load the paper?
  • Did you register the paper size on the printer's display when loading the paper in that tray?
  • Did you verify that the correct paper size is selected within the print settings window on your computer screen?
  • What operating system is your computer running? (e.g. Windows 10, Windows 11, macOS Tahoe V26).

Please feel free to include any additional information or questions in your reply. It will help if you can upload a photo of a sample print that shows the issue you are experiencing.

I hope this helps. Thanks again.

Turns out the problem only occurs when printing labels/documents from Ebay. Printing regular documents (PDF’s, Docs etc., works as it should.

One more thing. Why do I keep getting prompts to load rear paper feed which I never use. I only use front load. Thank you.
