Hi!

I bought a Pixma TS3522 printer and when turned it on an error code P22 appears. I have been unable to complete the setup.

Thanks.

Hi Joe314! Thanks for posting in the Canon Community Forum. I see that your PIXMA TS3522 is displaying a P,2,2 error during setup.

The P,2,2 error indicates a mechanical issue inside the printer. I recommend that you check the ink cartridges (if you have already installed them) to see if the inks are properly installed. If the inks do not move to the replacement position when you open the printer, please close the printer and do the following:

  1. Press the Power button to turn the printer off.
  2. Wait for the Power lamp to stop blinking.
  3. Press and release the Power button, and then start counting to four.
  4. When you reach the number four, immediately disconnect the power cable.

You do not need to turn the printer off before you do step 4. Once you have done the above, you can open the printer. Then, place a finger on the closest cartridge and manually drag it to the center where you can see both cartridges.

If you can move the cartridges, please follow the instructions in the following article to make sure that the printer is properly turned on:

https://ij.manual.canon/ij/webmanual/Manual/All/TS3500%20series/EN/UG/ug-127.html

While you have the printer open, you should also make sure that all the packing material mentioned in the Getting Started Guide (Page 1, Step 2) have been removed. Here is a link to the Getting Started Guide.

https://gdlp01.c-wss.com/gds/7/0300042097/01/TS3500_GS_E2a_V1.pdf

Next, you can close the printer and reconnect the power cable. Then, turn the printer back on. If the error comes back right away, you’ve done all you can do. There is a mechanical issue with the printer.

To figure out what support options are available to you, I recommend that you create a My Canon Account and register the printer. Please use the following link to create or open your account:

https://myprofile.americas.canon.com/us/signin

After you create your account and register the printer, you can click on SERVICE & SUPPORT (in the left column). Next, click on the red box that says GET SERVICE & SUPPORT (on the right side of the page) to check if you can access our phone and chat options.

If you have already registered your printer, you can sign into your My Canon Account (same link as above), click on SERVICE & SUPPORT on the left, and click on GET SERVICE & SUPPORT on the right to check which support options are available to you.

Enjoy the upcoming holiday season and thank you for choosing Canon.
