Replaced ink cartridge for both color and black.   The black light is still on.  The printer working, but the light does not go off.  What is happening?

Hi,

If the ink is printing correctly, it could be a glitch. I recommend performing a reset of the printer. While the printer is on, unplug the power cord from the printer. While the power is off, press the power button 5 times. After 60 seconds plug the power cord back in and power on the printer.

You can also try holding down the stop button on the printer for 5 seconds  to see if that would clear it as well.

Neither solution worked.  I also tried removing the cartridge and re seating it.  Same result

Hi,

Just to confirm, when you print the nozzle check using the steps HERE, does your print out match the Canon example?

We look forward to your reply.

Yes. All as it should be.  except for the light still being on

Hi,

At this time, I recommend reaching out to Canon support for real time support. You will need to register your Canon gear HERE to access additional support options.

We look forward to hearing from you.
