PIXMA PRO-100 - ink tank not recognized

Hi,

I needed to replace an ink cartridge, and right after doing so all of the cartridge lights turned off. I removed all cartridges, took out the ink tank several times, cleaned the area, and after many attempts I managed to get a single red light when inserting the first cartridge. However, halfway through reinstalling the rest, all lights went off again.

I repeated the entire process, but the printer no longer recognizes the ink tank as no light goes on.

Does anyone have ideas or suggestions on what might cause this or how to get the printer to recognize the ink tank again?

Is this a cartridge genuine Canon or third party?  If it is from Canon I suggest you call them.

If from a third party perhaps the third party can explain why their cartridge caused your failure.

Ink tank replacement is at https://support.usa.canon.com/kb/s/article/ART152908.   There is a note there to only ever replace one ink tank at a time.

Phone support for printers is open Monday - Friday from 10AM to 10PM Eastern Time at 1-800-OK-CANON (800-652-2666).

Online I see mention of resetting ink cartridge chips, so if you've introduced an error due to a third party cartridge this may be what course of action Canon will recommend for you to take to resolve this, or, if it is a third party cartridge, at least a step that you try to resolve your issue.
