PIXMA TR8520 ink cartridge wont print

I replaced the large print cartridge and when I do a new "Nozzle" check pattern, it still will not print the top grid lines.

does this mean the head cleaner part is out??  it prints the colors on the check pattern, but not the black grid lines.

thanks for any support you can give.

This issue may occur if the ink cartridges are replaced prior to the ink being completely empty. It is recommended to only replace the ink when it shows the ink is completely empty. You can continue printing when the ink is low.

Hi Dmarie,

Please open the cover to your PIXMA TR8520 and remove the PGBK ink tank.  Please verify that all of the tape/cellophane has been removed from the ink tank and then reinsert the ink tank back into your PIXMA TR8520 and close the cover.

Please attempt to print.  If black is still missing, please perform 2 deep cleanings:

1.  Please tap the gear at the bottom of the display of your PIXMA TR8520.

2.  Tap Maintenance.

3.  Tap Deep Cleaning.

4.  Tap Yes.

After 2 cleanings, if black still does not print, your PIXMA TR8520 would require service.  If your PIXMA TR8520 was purchased less than a year ago, please contact one of Canon's Technical Support Representatives via phone or chat to obtain your in warranty options.
