PIXMA TR7520 Scanner will not connect to my PC

Jerry81

I have a Pixma TR7520 that is several years old.  Recently the scanning function has stopped working.  All other functions are fine.  I have downloaded updates from the Canon website but the scanner still does not work.  Any suggestions?

Hi Jerry81,

As a test, please attempt to scan using the IJ Scan Utility.  To do this, please follow these steps:

1.  Click on the Windows button at the bottom of your computer's screen.

2.  In menu that appears, please click the "All" or "All Apps" button.

3.  In the new menu, please scroll down the list and click on the Canon Utilities folder.

4.  Click on the IJ Scan Utility.

Once that is open, please click the Photo button.

Are you able to scan?  If not, what is the error that appears?

What is the code that appears at the bottom of the error message?

Hi Patrick:

I cannot open the IJ Scan Utility app.  I get an error message "The scanner is not available while in use by another application or user."

Hi Jerry81,

Please turn off every computer in your household.   Off complete, only turn your Windows 11 computer back on.

Once on, please attempt to scan using the IJ Scan Utility again.
