PIXMA TR7520 Scanner will not connect to my PC

I have a Pixma TR7520 that is several years old. Recently the scanning function has stopped working. All other functions are fine. I have downloaded updates from the Canon website but the scanner still does not work. Any suggestions?

Hi Patrick:I cannot open the IJ Scan Utility app. I get an error message "The scanner is not available while in use by another application or user."
