PIXMA TR4722 double printing

Does anyone know how to fix double printing? It’s as the printer gets shaken as the documented is being printed so all the lines and letters are doubled

Sounds like your encoder strip is dirty.  If you open the printer and look you will see a plastic strip with barcode printing on it.  Use a small rag, cotton ball or Qtip with a little alcohol applied.

Wipe the strip clean.  Close the printer and retest.

Apollol,

I am having the same issue/same printer, and had to get a replacement printer sent since it's still under warranty. Wiping any "spots, smears, etc.", off the encoder strip did not work. I changed both print cartridges, from Canon, ran all maintenance processes, and still same issue, double lines printed on all lines.

My question is, did you ever resolve your issue or did you get a new or different printer?  I want to upgrade this model and was curious about the route you've taken.  Thanks for the feedback!
