PIXMA MX922 with error code B200 (Series MX920)

How do you clear the B200 Support Code on my Printer? I can't do anything with the printer until the B200 code is removed and does not pop up as soon as I power up the printer. AND what causes the B200 code to be active all of a sudden?? My printer is no longer in warranty, but has worked fine until this code issue appeared all of a sudden! Your nearest service center is over 250 miles away----hardly worth while to keep printer if no "work a round" is provided, and I doubt I'd buy another Canon if this issue is not resolved!

Well, you know, as in all things, it works until it doesn't ........  that's life.

OMG!  It worked.  So, yes, that is very confusing.  I have been getting this error message on my printer for over a year, have been able to "nurse" it back to running order each time.  DON'T give up on your printer guys!

I wash the cradles out with alcohol.  My most calcitrant cradle is the one on the far right, which always has lots of ink in it. I clean that out really well with the alcohol, sometimes remove all the cartridges if I feel like it needs it.  Most of the time that clears the error and the printer starts back up again and is okay for a while.

This time it was more stubborn (as what happens occasionally, it gives me more trouble and it takes longer to get it going again). The "open door" thing has been a challenge because the error message won't allow you to run the printer with the doors open.  But explained correctly, as it has been here, It DID work and my printer is once more back in business.  YEAH!  Thanks guys.

My Pixma 922 is five years old, and I love it.  It's a great printer, even with the B200 error code. That's a bitch, and definitely a Cannon flaw, but as I said, I love this printer and don't want to go looking for a new one. This is the only complaint I have about it and I think, even if I end up replacing the print head I'll do it. It would be worth it.  Hands down it's a great printer.

The B200 has been a big pain for  a few years.I find If I  just turn off the printer for a few days and it will work when I turn it back on. I also have a brother laser printer so I can wait it out.

I still have the Cannon printer because the other features still work such as scanning and it was a great printer until overdose of B200. It prints on both sides without manually flipping the paper. I was happy because the ink cartridges were not made obsolete. The cycle time for each attempted reset was unbearable for me. Best wishes everyone.

That's amazing your printer still works with the error message. Mine won't do a thing until the message is cleared out.

If it doesn't work and all the software is up to date there is nothing wroung with using a good screwdriver set and taking it apart, reassembling it or whatever. careful not to stip screw heads. not much to break anything worse that B200.

Hello, great that you asked. The HP relacement from ebay is a nice device and is working well for me. It has functionality that is very useful. The only drawback is that it does not print on both sides unless the paper can be flipped over and put back into the feed tray. The setup process was somewhat confusing but I took my time to get everything set correctly. I had rebuilt my MacBook Pro and upgade my HP desktop to Windows 10 and added a wireless USB adaptor to it. Two different computers and operating systems, wired or unwired connections, overall home network configuration, Google Drive and photos, and 1 Drive, icloud this cloud that, My Galxey phone, Samsung account, Google account, Microsoft pushing 360 accounts, Xfinity internet, Smart TVs. They all want to take control. too many ways to back up and sync to where. Updated drivers. don't forget to make new printer the default and all that great stuff. Sorry for this delayed reply. I am very happy with the HP OfficeJet 3830 and replacemet ink is readily available. The printer can auto order new ink. It prints at a nice speed and is a quiet printer. Good support at the HP website. The HP scan and printer Doctor works well and I did use it several times. The Doctor is Different than the Printer Assistant Device control panel) for Scaning, Faxing  and printer. I was unfamiliar with device and software names at frirst but everything is working well.  Thanks for asking.

Oh, I have no idea why the help information mentions things about bright lights shining at the paper discharge area or why the bright lights should be avoided. I do have a tall triple hinged lamp with rotate and tilt bulb hood/receptacle that can take a track lighting style halogen flood light bulb and often wonder if I blinded a communication sensor for the printer head or other imaginary components. Simply powering the printer off, waiting, back on never worked for me doing that only. The only way I ever got the B200 code to finally go away was by manually pushing the ink carriage back and forth and unscrewing everything on the print head then reassembling. annoying that the ink removal and head removal positions are at two different positions on the track. and very annoying cycle time only to get the b200. If it did retain the B200 error it should have showed immediately but is was more like the error was cleared and then occurring again every time towad the end of the cycle. Double Ugg!
