I have a Pixma MX492, that was working great until a few months ago, when I printed addresses on 5x7 sized envelopes for an event. Since then, Laptop A (HP, Windows 11) from which I printed the envelopes prints on all different sizes/types of paper with no issues. However, two other devices in our household - Laptop B (HP, Windows 10) and an iPad Air 13 (which is 6 months old), from which NO envelopes were ever printed, can no longer print because it says the printer is set up for 5x7 envelopes and the print size on the devices is letter.
The menu on the printer only offers two options - to replace the paper (does not work) or cancel. There is no option to select the cassette.
Things I have tried that did not work:
I am about ready to lose my ever-loving mind over this. HELP!!!

Also, I don't know if this is relevant, but when I print from Laptop B or the iPad, the queue first says "Printing" then says "Sent to Printer" and I get a Printer Needs Attention message, but can only see the issue on the tiny screen on the printer. Once I do that, even if I clear the queue, Laptop A gets an error message that says something like "the printer is busy doing something else" and I have to reboot it before Laptop A can print again.

Hi Kali284,
First, let's reinstall the drivers. Please turn your PIXMA MX492 off and then follow these steps:
1. On your Windows 10 computer, please press the Windows key on your keyboard and the letter R, then let both go.
2. In the Run window that appears, please type CONTROL and click OK.
3. In Control Panel, click on "View devices and printers".
4. Right click the Canon MX490 series and then left click on Remove device.
5. Repeat until all MX490's have been removed from the Printers window.
6. Close the Printers window once complete.
Next, we will download the latest driver:
1. Please click this link: https://www.usa.canon.com/support/p/pixma-mx492#DOWNLOADS
2. Click on Software & Drivers.
3. Choose "Windows" from the Operating System drop down and then "Windows 10" from the Version drop down.
4. Click the Download button to the right of "Print Driver and Scan Utility Installer Ver.1.02 (Windows)". Note: you may have to click the "Load More" button to locate this.
5. Once that file finishes, please open or run that file to begin the installation on your computer. If you have to search for the file first, the files name is: "mp68-win-mx490-1_02-ea33_3.exe"
6. Follow the on screen prompts to reinstall. Please do not turn your printer back on until the installation prompts you to.
Once reinstalled, let's try printing on letter sized plain paper.
By default, this is already set in the printer driver, so let's set this on your printer:
1. Press the SETUP button on your MX492. It is the one with the wrench and screwdriver icon.
2. Use the left or right arrows to select Device settings and press OK.
3. Use the left or right arrows to select Cassette settings and press OK.
4. Use the left or right arrows to select Register paper info and press OK.
5. Select Letter and press OK.
6. Select Plain paper and press OK.
Once set, please attempt to print:
1. On your computer, please press the Windows key on your keyboard and the letter R, then let both go.
2. In the Run window that appears, please type NOTEPAD and click OK.
3. Type out a few words into Notepad.
4. Click on File and then Print.
5. Make sure that the Canon MX490 series Printer is selected and then click Print at the bottom.
Were you able to print?
