PIXMA MX490 can't scan multiple pages

doug_bell_ttu

This morning, I downloaded the Canon update and I can't make my MX490 printer scan multiple pages into a single document since.  Before, I scanned the first page and then the screen asked me whether I wanted to quit or scan another page.  I could scan in as many pages as I wanted and it would ask me, after each page, whether I wanted to scan additional pages.  Now, it never displays that screen with a choice.  It also never tells me that the scan is finished, though it does take the first page or my multi - page document and place it in the image garden. How can I back off this Canon update so that my scanner will work correctly?  Any help would be appreciated.

Are you scanning from Windows? Are you using the same application as before? Or are you scanning from the scanner itself? It is possible the update changed a setting as opposed to  deleting the option.

These are the document settings for a Canon Scanner, notice the Data Format pdf (multiple pages) setting. It is the setting that scans pages into one document.

Hi doug_bell_ttu,

Thanks for letting us know what Canon product you've got. The PIXMA MX490 is an older model which we have retired. While that means that Canon USA no longer offers direct support for it, your friends here in the Canon Community are welcome to offer suggestions!

You can also speak with a Canon Upgrade Program specialist to help you score a modern replacement that would meet your current needs at a discount. You can reach them weekdays and Saturdays at 1-866-443-8002.

Hope this helps!
