Hello, I need some help with photo printing. I have a Canon MX475 and my photo print quality are poor, pale. I have Also made some test .

The top left picture is very good qualiti, I have made on a Cewe machine in DM store.

I get the closest acceptable quality when I print it as a color PDF document in normal mode. If I changed the setting photoprint Mode the quality was as bad as printed with Canon easy photo print .

I have tried to print with Microsoft photos as well but ged the same bad quality result.

Only in PDF and word format I get some better quality but in this case the print is fast and for that reason is not so good.

So the best option would be to print with canon easy print or with other software print as picture without that poor quality.

Thank you for your help!

I think it's going to be the case of what software will be able to handle proper color workflows.  i.e. for the specific type of media/paper you're priting to, can that software use the correct profiles.

For the highest quality output, I believe you'll be best served when using dedicated software to produce photographic prints.  v.s word processing software such as Word.

Hello,

I am having the same issue as the original poster. I only get good colour when I print my image as a PDF using the 'Standard' setting, not the photographic setting. However, as the Standard setting is intended for the documents, the print quality of the images is significantly reduced.

When I have used dedicated software to produce photographic prints, such as the Canon easy photo print, the print quality is signficantly better, but the colours are extremely dull and faded.

Please can you explain how I can fix this issue?

What software should I use?

What paper are you printing images on? As far as the software is concerned. I have a lot of programs. Corel Paintshop Pro, both the new and Legacy Windows Photos program, Microsoft Paint. Canon Easy Print and the older version Easy Print EX.  I display 11x14s matted and framed in Art stores in the town where I live, so color and sharpness are very important to me. I have found simple photo editing program that also sorts my images by year and date, as well as importing images from my camera or sd card works the best. It does not have its own "driver" it relies on the Microsoft/Canon printer interface to print. I can make a custom size and the printed image from my Pixma IP8720 matches my calibrated monitors. It is freeware and sorts any image folders on your hard drive, which you set up, and it may import them from a card reader. I cannot say for sure, if the program recognizes it as a card used in a Canon camera.  The software cannot be copied and redistributed but it can be directly downloaded by anyone with a compatible device.

Play Memories Home.

thank you for your response. i’m printing images on inkjet glossy paper. i have also used canon easy print and microsoft paint to try and print and my images are still faded, with a blueish hue replacing the black. it is only when i print from a pdf that i get accurate colour, but then the print quality is diminished with vertical lines appearing across the image. i’m not sure what to do

I should have asked this first. Who makes the ink cartridges you are using?
