PIXMA MP240 will no longer scan after upgrading to Windows 11

Hi.

I have had a Canon MP240 printer/scanner for several years, and it has always worked fine. I recently replaced my laptop, which now has Windows11. While the printer still works fine, I'm unable to scan anything. Is there a solution, or do I need to replace my printer/scanner? Thank you.

Thanks for letting us know what Canon product you've got. The PIXMA MP240 is an older model which we have retired. While that means that Canon USA no longer offers direct support for it, your friends here in the Canon Community are welcome to offer suggestions!

You can also speak with a Canon Upgrade Program specialist to help you score a modern replacement that would meet your current needs at a discount. You can reach them weekdays and Saturdays at 1-866-443-8002.

Hope this helps!

Greetings,

Your MP240 is about 10 yrs old now, and has been retired as Danny indicated.

No full featured drivers for it have been released since Windows 8.1

Canon Support for PIXMA MP240 | Canon U.S.A., Inc.

You can try to use these drivers with Windows 11, but they may not be 100% compatible.  If you are really fond of the device, you can try them.  VueScan by hamrick software is another option.

Another consideration.  Your new computer and you 😀, probably deserve a new printer.  You've certainly received a good return on a 10 yr investment.

Canon has a Upgrade program for loyal customers.  It offers a small discount and free shipping on a new printer.  Its designed for users who own products that have reached end of life (retirement) or products than can no longer be supported of serviced.

You can reach an upgrade specialist here:
