Just got a Pixma TR8622a for Christmas. Was setting everything up, when the front panel touchscreen stopped working. It had all the options but would not let you select anything. I did have it plugged into a power strip, which upon research showed to plug straight into wall outlet. Did that and now its stuck on the screen saying power was not turned off correctly... when go to tap ok. Nothing happens.
Do I return it or what???

I suspect you removed the film protection off the screen. Assuming it is not there then the screen is stuck so do this:
Unplug from wall for at least two minutes and plug back in. If that resets the screen you may want to make this change in settings:
Please tap the gear icon at the bottom of the display of your PIXMA TR8622a.
2. Please scroll down the list and tap ECO.
3. Tap Energy saving settings.
4. Tap Next.
5. Tap Auto power off and select "Never" from the top of the list.
6. Tap Auto power on and select "ON".
7. Tap OK.
8. Tap the Home icon in the upper left corner.

Thank you for your reply! I have also tried unplugging it. I left it unplugged for several hours and it still will not work.

If you can I suggest you return it.
