PIXMA MG6220 Paper jam error message won't clear

Our PIXMA cannon printer has a Error code locked in paper output slot The paper is jammed clear the output slot and press on. 

there is no jam in either the input or output slots. This error will not go clear. we are unable to print.

Thanks for letting us know what Canon product you've got. The PIXMA MG6220 is an older model which we have retired. While that means that Canon USA no longer offers direct support for it, your friends here in the Canon Community are welcome to offer suggestions!

Did you ever get a response or find resolution that didn't require an upgrade or new product? I'm having the same issue but no I don't need anything other than a way to just clear the error code. I've turned it off, I've unplugged it… There is no jam, I removed it. I cannot use the printer with the error code still showing
