PIXMA MG2522 "print disappears"

Hello. I need some big help in determining why my Canon Pixma MG2522 is stopping a printing que mid print! If I may explain, I have the correct ink, zero paper jam, etc., and updated all drivers only to have this problem occur over and over. I bring up a document to print, cue it to print and when it sounds like the ink cartridge is moving, like in previous usage, the paper feeds as to print and then...it stops mid print and the que prompt to print disappears and the end of printing. I must have googled why a dozen times to no avail. I tried to attach a video of the problem and but don't know how. 😞 Thank you!

What type of printer connection are you using? What operating system are you using? When the printer stops does it feed the paper through?

Hi Derrick and thanks for your reply. Well its wired with the required cable and usb and not wireless as this model is a couple years old. I have windows 10 as well and all worked as it should for the longest time until recently. When I cue up a document, etc., to print, I can see and hear the printer in action and when it goes to print and the paper goes to feed through, it only does slightly and then it stops mid feed and the printer/ink que prompt window goes away and stops and nothing happens. Sorry but that is the best way I can describe it dear. 😞

It could be a windows 10 print spooler problem. Stopping, clearing and restarting the spooler might help:

Steps to Clear the Print Queue in Windows 10

Using Devices and Printers

  1. Press the Windows + R keys to open the Run dialog.
  2. Type control printers and press Enter to open Devices and Printers.
  3. Locate your printer and right-click on it.
  4. Select See what's printing.
  5. In the print queue window, click on Printer in the menu bar.
  6. Choose Cancel All Documents and confirm by clicking Yes.

Restarting the Print Spooler

If the print jobs do not clear, you may need to restart the Print Spooler service:

  1. Press the Windows + R keys again.
  2. Type services.msc and press Enter.
  3. Scroll down to find Print Spooler.
  4. Right-click on Print Spooler and select Stop.
  5. Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS and delete all files in this folder.
  6. Return to the Services window, right-click on Print Spooler, and select Start.

Derrick I followed your instructions....with the same results. Ugh. I even tried to forward a paper and when it sounds like it's going to, it stops. I can recognize the sounds like the printer wants to print....but then it just stops. There are no flashing error lights and I'm left scratching my head. I am able to still scan documents etc., just not print. SMH.

Can you print from the printer itself? Let's find out.

To print a nozzle check pattern (test page) directly from the Canon PIXMA MG2522 control panel, ensure the printer is on and loaded with A4/Letter paper.
Hold down the Stop button until the orange Alarm lamp flashes once, then release it immediately.

I did just that....and...same thing....it just...stops. I can hear the cycle and even the cartridge moving...but when it is supposed to print/feed....it stops.

Well, if the printer won't complete a page (nozzle test, cleaning page, network properties, whatever) even from the printer control panel, it has a mechanical or electrical problem.

Call Canon Support to see if they can be of help with troubleshooting, repair service, or discounted replacement.
