PIXMA MG2450 not printing text from Word documents

Hi all, newbie here.

I would be most grateful for any help you could  give me with this please.

My Canon MG2450, which up to now has been brilliant, no longer wishes to print text from a Word document.
It will print emails, PDFs from Adobe, pictures and even pictures in Word documents just refuses to print text in them.
I have downloaded all the drivers etc and it just won't cooperate.

Looking forward to reading your remarks.

Stan

I have now solved the problem.
Having "repaired" the printer software and downloaded a replacement printer driver, to cut a long story short, the indicated ink level was bogus. The black ink was out!

Proved in the end by being able to print the Word document in a colour but not being able to photocopy in black.

KISS I think!!!
Thanks for the help!

Have you run a nozzle check? The printer uses a pigment black ink cartridge for text and dye color inks for all other printing.

Thanks for this.

I will check, but I did do all sorts of print tests, nozzle cleaning etc all of which seemed to be OK.

I will try printing an email again just in black but I am pretty sure that when I did this before it was OK.
It seems to be more of a software problem but then I am no expert.

If you list the problem software maybe someone has experience with it.

I did post that it was in Word, i.e. Microsoft Office Word it is in fact 2010 variety.
Since I posted I have managed to get Microsoft to "repair" my Office suite but it is not too late for me to test it, and tomorrow I have to take a vehicle in for MOT (roadworthiness test) but I'll have another go and report back. Cheers!
