Common Causes of Missing Tops of Words

The issue of missing tops of words in the PIXMA MG2450 printer after replacing the cartridge can typically be attributed to two main factors:

This is the most likely cause:

Improper Alignment

  • Alignment Issues: When a new cartridge is installed, the print heads may not be properly aligned. This misalignment can lead to incomplete printing, such as missing parts of letters.

Clogged Print Heads

  • Clogged Nozzles: If the print heads are clogged, they may not deliver ink properly, resulting in missing sections of text. This is especially common if the printer has not been used for a while.

Recommended Solutions

To address these issues, follow these steps:

Run Printer Maintenance

  1. Alignment: Access the printer's settings and run the alignment function. This will help ensure that the print heads are correctly positioned.
  2. Cleaning Cycle: Perform a print head cleaning cycle. This function will help clear any clogs in the nozzles and improve ink flow.

Additional Tips

  • Check Ink Levels: Ensure that the new cartridge is properly installed and has sufficient ink.
  • Use Quality Cartridges: Consider using original or high-quality compatible cartridges to avoid issues related to poor ink quality.
