PIXMA MG 5220 stopped scanning

PiXMA 5220 purchased in 2011. I never had any problems till today. Copies and prints fine. Just stopped scanning, it goes through the motions of snanning , however never completes. I reinstalled drivers from the disc that came with the printer, no change.

This issue is resolved.

I installed all software again, only after deleting all printer software from my control panel.

It was just like a new complete set up..Everything works fine now...
