No scanner in quick menu

How do I fix this issue? I have an mx512 and need to scan from my computer.

Have you installed all the correct Canon printer drivers? 

 

Do you have the Canon IJ Scan Utility installed?

Yes, I installed all the software and the scan utility. I can use the scanner, but not through the quick menu

It shows up in my Quick Menu. I didn’t do anything special, and also don’t use QM.

Is it the latest version of QM?

If its important to have it in QM you can give Canon a call at 1-800-OK-CANON.

I have called them 20 times. I have an account with my phone number in it and it says they can't find my account and then hang up. I'm exhausted trying to get them!

Thanks for the help. I have found a solution. I got rid of that printer and bought a new one that does not use the quick menu. Still a canon but a bigger better one for my office.
