Not too much to say here. Every time I try to print the printer either takes to long or says "The printer is not responding". I'm printing through wifi.

Hi courtenayterrac,
Please follow these steps:
1. Turn your printer on.
2. Select Setup from the HOME screen. It the is the wrench and screwdriver icon.
3. Select Device Settings and then press OK.
4. Use the up or down button to select LAN settings and press OK.
5. Use the up or down button to select Confirm LAN settings and press OK.
6. Use the up or down button to select Print LAN details and press OK.
On the page that prints, what is listed next to signal strength?

Nothing has changed reading these posts. I have a Maxify MB2720 that has just started having the same problem. Yeah..I know about the head cleaning and never try and print right when I turn it on. I'm printing wirelessly,yep it has found my router and connected to it. But...I get the same error messages others are talking about. PORT IN USE,problem in printing,the message that slides out from the bottom right--Could not print xxxx document. OR it will even say printing document,yet it's printing nothing.
Then if you close the window wait a bit and click on the same document later on it might print FIVE copies when you wanted one. I had this problem last night just trying to print some simple calandar pages off the web. Took forever to print one (needed three months of calandar) so I gave up and SHUT the printer down. Started it up the next morning and walked away--came back to three or found pages printed laying on the floor of the same month. This is REALLY starting to tick me off.
I've had this printer for over a year and it printed quickly using my LAN from day one--in fact it was doing fine just a month or so ago so no it's not a router problem or distance from the printer. There is something hanging this up internally. I downloaded the latest drivers and installed them. Same problem.

If the printer is receiving a "Port in use" error, then something is either monopolzing or blocking one of the ports that the printer requires to operate. The most likely cause is an antivirus or firewall blocking the port. Common ports used by Canon inkjet printers may be found HERE in the Canon Knowledgebase. Refer to the antivirus or firewall developer's support and documentation for directions on adding exceptions.
Interference from an antivirus may also cause slowdown of printing, as the data is filtered and delayed.
You may, alternatively, need to remove the MB2700 series entries from the printers list, uninstall the drivers from the Programs & Features or Apps & Features list (depending on the version of Windows), restart the computer, and then reinstall the drivers. Restarting allows the computer to clear any legacy settings that might cause problems to persist between installation attempts.

Thanks,got it to work by basically starting over. I did a reset on the printer and set up the network again letting it find my router. Re-installed drivers from my Maxify disc to my PC which oddly has the printer show in Windows listings as a MB2720 FAX but it printed a Windows printer test page right after clicking on it.
Downloading new drivers from 2019 changed the printer listing to a MB2720 Printer instead of FAX.
The port name that now shows up on the Windows 10 test page on this computer and a second one in my office is:
434F370000000

My Canon MG7720 averages 45 minutes to make a copy and over an hour to print anything. Scanning is acceptably fast but I seldom need to scan as I can just take higher resolution pictures with my phone now when I need to create an electronic copy of paper documents. This printer's insanely slow print speed saves ink as I seldom need anything badly enough to waste that much time to get anything on paper. When I am in a hurry I email the item I need to the library which is four blocks away from my house. Then I walk over to pick it up and walk back home before this printer manages to print anything out and I have gottene in some exercise as well! My ink tanks expire long before I manage to use them up and the case of paper that I bought six years ago is still mostly unused! My next printer won't be a Canon but at this point I've gotten so used to not printing that I'm not sure I actually need a printer anymore! I'm using Windows 10 and my computer is connected to my printer over an ethernet network. Once in a blue moon I can print stuff immediatly but only the first page. I have to wait for a second page or for a second document. I use lots of colorful language with my Canon MG7720 printer and I look forward to the day when I finnaly loose complete patience with it and take my 20lb sledge hammer to it so I can get at least a little bit of enjoyment out of owning this paperweight. As ink is nonreturnable and insanely expensive I want to use up my exsisting stash of ink before I sledgehammer fix the thing though. Cheers!

I have a brand new PC and a brand new printer - Canon TR8520 - just purchased in January 2021. At first the printer worked fine. Nice and quick, just as expected. Now, however, it gets slower and slower to start printing, and to continue printing. The other day I needed to print 7 pages - single-sided, black only, text only. It took 1 1/2 hours! It takes like 10 minutes between every page.
None of the suggestions I've found anywhere have helped. The best suggestion I've seen yet is the one from Amherst11, and that is to print at the library. My library is a 10 min drive away. It would still be quicker. Probably cheaper too, even considering gas prices!

Not sure if your printer would do the same as a MB2720 but go into Windows "Settings" (click on the Windows Start button to find the Settings icon) then go into printers and uninstall your printer. Wait a bit and then click to install a new printer and have it do the re-install.
Sometimes the MB2720 needs to have a new port assigned to it for whatever reason. I never turn my printer off,just let it hibernate and it seems to eliminate that problem.

I have had the same problem but intermittently with my TS9120. It will print quickly for weeks hen all of a sudden it acts like it is buffering huge files or something. I have repeated the set up a couple of times. Disconnected and reset the wireless LAN ( this is hit or miss works half the time), to try and fix. It is frustrating. I also have a wireless router repeater with in two feet of the printer and it does not seem to want to connect vi that device but only my main wireless router on the other side of the house. I say this as the signal strength should be almost 100% and it is typically at 66-75% which i assume is the main router on the other side of the house.
Any suggestions ideas recommendations would be great

Just thought I'd give an update. I searched and searched for a solution to this problem. It never resolved itself. I uninstalled and reinstalled the printer, the wireless, drivers, etc multiple times. Nothing helped. Every once in a while the printer would shock me and print immediately. But 95% of the time it took a tremendously long time to print - if it printed at all. I finally gave up and bought a cord to connect the printer directly to the computer. Badabing badaboom - it now works perfectly, immediately, every single time!!! There is definitely something wrong with it trying to print wirelessly. But at least now I can print reliably.
