I understand the PIXMA MP530 is skipping lines when printing and copying. To troubleshoot this issue, I recommend reseating the print head. The following will assist you:

After you have reseated the print head, perform one cleaning process.
Lastly, perform a test print.
If the event persists, the printer may require service.You can check with any local electronic repair shops in your area to see if they can perform the cleaning. I would get a quote since it may cost more to repair the printer then it would to replace it.
