MG6820 Won't Duplex Print

CSJ

It gives the option to duplex print in the dialog box, and I check it, but it does not print on both sides. I am doing my taxes and need duplex printing. Help!

I too have a Canon MG6820 and am having exactly the same problem. I'd like to add some of my own color to the previous statement above. I'm new to the Canon Community so excuse me if I am entering this incorrectly via the REPLY function. In my case, the problem started immediately after I responded to a prompt on my printer saying "New Firmware is available. Please download it now." I'm not sure if my rendition of the message is word perfect but that was the gist of it. Besides making sure the boxes are ticked correctly for Duplex Printing, I have no idea what to do to fix the problem. I don't think I can put the Firmware back to its previous configuration before the update because it's on the printer, not my Mac Book Pro laptop.

Hi edosan86,

Reinstalling the driver may resolve this issue.

Please follow these steps:

 1.  Click on the Apple in the upper left hand corner and then System Preferences.

 2.  Click on Printers & Scanners.

 3.  Click on the MG6800 series printer and then the [-] at the bottom to uninstall.

 4.  Once removed, close all windows.

To download the latest driver, please follow these steps:

1. Visit Canon's website at: http://usa.canon.com/support

2. Type PIXMA MG6820 in the "enter a model" box and click GO.

3. Click on Drivers & Downloads.

4. Click the Select button next to "MG6800 series CUPS Printer Driver Ver. 16.20.0.0 (Mac)".

5. Click the Download button.

6. If a Save dialog box appears, click Save.

7. Once the download is complete, open your Downloads folder.

8. Double click [mcpd-mac-mg6800-16_20_0_0-ea21_3.dmg].

Follow the instructions on the screen to install your PIXMA MG6820.
