MG5720 Prints, but no ink coverage

Pbrodsky
Apprentice

Recently, my MG5720 said it had a paper jam, but there was none.  Since then, I try to print and the ink barely prints.  I have removed and reinserted the barely used ink tanks, so it isn't that.

I am WFH so I need to print--help!

Hi Pbrodsky,

First, please make sure that the ink tanks are installed in the printer correctly and are in the correct order.  The order from left to right is as follows:

CLI-271 M
CLI-271 Bk
CLI-271 Y
PGI-270 PGBk
CLI-271 C

Next, a test of your PIXMA MG5720 should be performed.  This will tell us if the printer is working correctly.  To do this, please load letter-sized paper in the PIXMA MG5720 and follow these steps:

 1.  Press the HOME button on your PIXMA MG5720.

 2.  Use the down arrow key to display SETUP and press the button below SETUP.

 3.  Select Maintenance and press <OK>.

 4.  Select Print nozzle check pattern and press <OK>.

 5.  Select Yes and press <OK>.

The Nozzle Check will print.  Please compare your printout to the example that has been posted below.  If they differ, please perform a few printhead cleanings.

To perform cleanings, please follow these steps:

 1.  Press the HOME button on your PIXMA MG5720.

 2.  Use the down arrow key to display SETUP and press the button below SETUP.

 3.  Select Maintenance and press <OK>.

 4.  Select Cleaning and press <OK>.

 5.  Select Yes and press <OK>.

 6.  Select Yes and press <OK>.

After a few cleanings, please print another Nozzle Check.

Does the Nozzle Check print correctly?
