MG3020 has red plastic part not explained in manual

The red plastic part came with the new MG3020. It is about 3x4 " overall. I cannot find any explanation of its function or where it goes. Let me know if you have any idea. Thanks.

Hi uhopfer,

That looks like the protective material that is ment to keep the ink carriage in place when the printer ships. If there is no error on the printer and there ink carriage is moving with no issues, you can throw that piece away.
