Installation error message for a printer MG2522. Claiming I don't have a driver needed.

Installation has failed four times now. After it sits and downloads everything I follow the steps for installation and all four times I get same error that is doesn't have  a driver it needs. Please help?

What computer operating system and version?

I could print but not scan. Spent hours with Canon and Apple. Apple ended up saying it's not compatible. Im taking it back. Life's too short for this hassle with a <$50 printer. (Mac OS12)
